TOPSHAM — Ernest “Tim” L. Brillant, 80, went to heaven June 3rd, 2012 at home surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Born in Brunswick September 6th, 1931, a son of Eudor and Mildred (Goodenow) Brillant. Tim attended Brunswick schools and married high school sweetheart, Joyce Alexander in 1952. He soon after served in the U.S. Army. In August, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

With a strong work ethic he founded Brillant Motors and soon became known as the “Walking Man’s Friend.” Through his compassion he helped people own their own vehicles.

His greatest passions were his wife and family, meeting people, and selling cars. He was a lifetime member of the Brunswick Elks Lodge #2043, member of the American Legion Post #202 Topsham, Topsham Fair, and other various charities and organizations.

Tim is survived by his wife Joyce; his son Leon and his wife Marie; daughter Marsha and her husband Jerry Lamarre; grandchildren, Leon II and his wife Erica Brillant, Kristina Brillant, Timothy Brillant and partner Zack Morin, Caitlin Rice, Lindsey Rice, Michael Gray, and Nickolas Brown; great-grandchildren, Jason, Marc, Alexander, Leon III, and Maxton; siblings, Hilda Card, Nancy Alexander, Beverly Eastman, Gerri Dempster, Sammy Brillant, and Dennis Brillant.

Was predeceased by a great grandson, Tyler Brown; brothers, Eudor “Tommy” Brillant, Elzear “Buddy” Brillant; and a sister, Linda Walton.

Per his request, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of his life, open to family and friends, will be held at the Topsham Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 10th at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chans Homehealthcare at 60 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick, ME 04011. Arrangements are by Kincer Funeral Home, Richmond, Maine.
