BATH — A local competitive dance and cheerleading program known as Bath Cheer and Dance Xplosion is holding a sign-up and tryout day Sunday at the Bath Parks and Recreation Department gym in search of its new 2013 teams.
Tryouts will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested athletes should wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and bring a water bottle. Participants will learn a dance and the cheerleaders will stunt for a short time. According to a press release, the routine will be applied to the Fourth of July Parade in Bath.
Bath Cheer and Dance Xplosion, founded in 1997, hopes to attract more athletes this year by opening up new divisions and age levels. Teams include Mini Dance (kindergarten to third grade); Junior Dance (fourth to seventh grade); Senior Dance (eighth to 12th grade); Junior Cheer (fourth to 12th grade); and Adult Dance Team.

The gym is located at 4 Sheridan Road in Bath.
