PORTLAND (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree raised more money for her re-election campaign during the most recent campaign finance period than her Republican rivals for Maine’s 1st Congressional district.
The latest figures for the period from April 1 to May 23 come from campaign finance reports filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.
Maine Today Media reports that Pingree’s campaign raised nearly $85,000 during the period.
Republicans Jonathan Courtney and Patrick Calder raised nearly $22,000 and just more than $3,000, respectively.
Pingree spent more than $48,000 during the period and had $210,158 on hand as of May 23. Courtney had almost $17,000 on hand when the reporting period ended, while Calder had more than $2,000.
