FREEPORT — The Freeport High School girls lacrosse team played well against unbeaten Waynflete in a 13-10 Class B loss on Friday.
Waynflete led 10-3 at the half, but received a stiff challenge in the second half as the Falcons held a 7-3 scoring advantage.
Sadie Cole paced the 9-0 Flyers with seven goals and an assist, while Walker Foehl had four goals and an assist, Martha Veroneau a goal and five assists, and Lucy Crane a goal.
Scoring for Freeport were Jess Hench (three goals, four assists), Jocelyn Davee (three goals), Alex Mitch (two goals, two assists), Meredith Broderick (goal) and Julia Dearden (goal).
Falcons goaltender Molly Lane played a standout game, making 14 saves.
Freeport is 4-5 and slated to host York on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
