WINSLOW — Morse High School and Winslow hooked up in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B baseball pitcher’s duel into the fifth inning on Friday.
Then the Shipbuilders gave themselves some distance, scoring four runs en route to a 9-2 victory over the Raiders.
The win gives Morse a 10-2 mark, with Medomak Valley scheduled to visit on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
Aaron Barrett began the fifth by reaching on an error, followed by consecutive bunt singles by Chris Paulus and Chris Luedee. Paul Whalen’s groundball drove in a run to break the scoreless tie, and Zach Groat drove in a pair with a double to complete the four-run uprising.
Winslow chipped away at the Morse lead with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. But, the Shipbuilders put the game away with five runs in the seventh.
Luedee, Whalen, CJ Jardin and Trent Moore each singled, and Groat drove in another pair of runs with a double. A Paulus RBI single completed the scoring.
Morse was solid defensively behind Barrett on the mound. The hurler went the distance, with three strikeouts and four hits. The Shipbuilders turned a pair of double plays.
Winslow (10-3) received two hits from Hopkins.

In Mountain Valley Conference play on Friday, the Greyhounds banged out 10 hits and raised their record to 5-6.
Lisbon is scheduled to host Telstar today at 4:30 p.m.
Kyle Bourget hurled 6.2 innings, with nine strikeouts and three walks to lead Lisbon, which plated two runs each in the first, fourth and sixth innings, and three in the second.
Mason Smith had two hits and two runs, Ryan Riordan a single, double, two runs and an RBI, and Bourget three hits and an RBI for Lisbon.
Carrabec (1-9) got singles from Blog Dunphy, Mike Cote and Will Crawford.

In the first game of a Saturday doubleheader, Derek Ouellette struck out 12, walked four and permitted just one hit in an East-West Conference win for Forest Hills.
Ouellette also starred at the plate. He homered, doubled, singled twice and picked up four RBIs, while teammate Taylor Lawrence singled twice.
Brian Snedeker had the lone Richmond hit, a two-run single in the sixth inning.
Ben Carver and Snedeker pitched, combining to allow 11 hits and six walks with four strikeouts.
RICHMOND 20
FOREST HILLS 9
The Bobcats ended a sevengame losing skid to improve to 2-10, with a home date with Class C Sacopee Valley scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Richmond fell behind 9-4 through two innings, but stormed back with three runs in the third and eight in the fifth for a 15-9 lead. The Bobcats had 12 hits, while Forest Hills picked up 13.
Tyler Harrington, who missed the opener after his ejection on Thursday in a loss to Valley, singled twice and hit a home run to finish with four RBIs to pace to the Richmond offense. Dustin Sullivan had three singles and Carver two singles.
Ouellette homered twice, singled and drove in six runs for Forest Hills (6-5). Matt Turner had four singles. On the mound, Turner and Lucas Levesque combined on six strikeouts and six walks.
