FREEPORT — The Freeport Rotary Club is sponsoring its 17th annual Close to the Coast 5K and 10K road races on June 2 at Winslow Park,
The race is part of the Winslow Park Family Fun Day, with all the events and park admission free of charge.
Hotdogs, ice cream, games, swimming, activities, playground and a moon bounce house will be available.
The 5K and 10K races start at 9 a.m., and race participants can register between 7:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. that morning. The registration fee is $20 per participant, with proceeds going to student educational scholarships and for local community projects through the Freeport Rotary Club.
Prizes for the top two finishers in each age category are assorted fruit pies from Orchard Hill Farm in Hebron.
