NEWPORT — The Morse High School jayvee softball team battled back from an early 5-2 deficit before breaking a 7-7 tie in the seventh with four runs as the Shipbuilders picked up an 11-7 victory over Nokomis recently.
Morse pitcher Micaila Barone struck out six, walked 11 and permitted three hits in the mound win.
Morgan Cram doubled and singled, Leia Graves singled twice, Brianna Koehling doubled, and Barone and Amelia Barrett each singled for Morse.
