
Dewar, who entered the twinbill tied with Kristie Miller for first on Bowdoin’s all-time hit list, had five hits in the doubleheader to move into sole possession of first place with 163 in her career.
Bowdoin is 26-11, with a big series beginning Saturday against NESCAC rival Bates. The Polar Bears host the Bobcats on Saturday, with a doubleheader set for Sunday in Lewiston. Bowdoin needs one win over the Bobcats this weekend to clinch a spot in the NESCAC postseason.
Bowdoin poured it on in the opener behind four hits from Dewar, scoring four times in the third and seven times in the fourth to end the game early. Gen Barlow ripped a two-run single in the third frame, while Courtney Colantuno delivered the big blow in the fourth with a three-run home run.
Tricia Thibodeau earned the win by going five innings and allowing just two earned runs.
Bowdoin saw its six-game win streak snapped in a 4-0 defeat in the nightcap. The Polar Bears mustered just six hits in the loss, led by two from Barlow.
Nancy Walker took the loss for Bowdoin by permitting three earned runs over 4.1 frames.
