BATH — People interested in becoming certified to teach in Maine can take part in a live, videoconference session from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at University College at Bath/Brunswick, 9 Park St.
The information session will explain University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) teacher preparation programs for early childhood education, elementary education, special education and secondary education.
Cynthia Dean, assistant professor of education at UMA and coordinator of teacher certification, will present information about courses, degrees, licensure exams, portfolio and student teaching obligations.
UMA education courses are offered online or through videoconference. Program curriculum adheres to Maine Department of Education requirements.
