FAIRFIELD (AP) — Police say one person suffered serious injuries and another received minor injuries in a three- vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 201 and Route 23 in Fairfield.
Police say 44-year-old Michael Fernald Jr. was flown to a Lewiston hospital after the crash Thursday afternoon.
His son, 18-year-old Michael Fernald Jr., suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to a local hospital.
Two other people involved refused medical treatment.
Police tell the Morning Sentinel the crash occurred when an 82-year-old driver pulled onto Route 201 and was broadsided by a second vehicle.
Police say the impact sent the second vehicle into the southbound lane, where it was struck by Fernald’s pickup.
