CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Sophomore attackman Tennessee Peters netted a gamehigh four goals to lead the University of Maine Farmington men’s lacrosse team over host Wheelock College, 15-3, on Wednesday at Hedley Field.
The Beavers improved to 1-4, while the Wildcats fell to 0-5.
Junior attackman Adam Russo opened the scoring for Wheelock when he took a feed from senior midfielder Matthew Howard of Brunswick at the 11:15 mark of the first quarter, but UMF responded with six unanswered goals to finish out the first quarter.
Howard and Russo hooked up again for the second quarter’s first tally when Russo found the back of the net before UMF countered with three goals before the end of the half for a 9-2 lead at the break.
Wheelock is slated to return to action on Monday against Becker College, while UMF travels to Lyndon State College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
