BATH — A proposal by Kevin Bachman to build a 16,000-square-foot indoor sports arena at Wing Farm Parkway is among items the Economic Development Committee will address at a meeting scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday at City Hall.
The $1 million Bath Football Center would “provide a place where individuals of all ages can participate in various sporting activities while enjoying an affordable experience,” according to information provided to the city.
In April 2011, Bachman told The Times Record prior to meeting in executive session with the City Council that funding for the project would come from private investors and grant opportunities.
City Manager Bill Giroux said last week that the proposal has not changed since it was initially brought to the council.
Councilors would have to approve the project before it could move forward.
The committee will also elect a chairman and vice-chairman and meet in executive session to discuss real estate matters.
City councilors Bernie Wyman, Andy Winglass, David Sinclair, Steve Brackett and Kyle Rogers serve on the Economic Development Committee.
