AUBURN — The 10- week Auburn Bolts Under-16 Hockey Development Program is slated to kick off season two, with tryouts and a brand new agenda to be offered for the 2012 season.
The Bolts are implementing several strategic changes to provide better development opportunities. A combination of an expanded coaching staff, physical fitness training and off-ice teaching sessions, plus more ice time, will provide players with resources to enhance their understanding of the game and on-ice performance.
The program is designed for athletes born in years 1996 and 1997, and to assist players who want to play varsity, and possibly college hockey. A team of consulting and assistant coaches will work together to provide a wide range of experience, knowledge, skill sets and guidance. The team also has a professional physical therapist.
There will be two sessions per week, including one on Sunday afternoons.
The tryout is scheduled for March 31 from 1: 45 p. m. to 3: 15 p. m. at Ingersoll Ice Arena. The fee is $20 and can be paid the day of the tryout. Preregistration is advised by going to www.auburnyouthhockey.com
