Maine Elite Lacrosse will hold a used equipment sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 10 at the Riverside Athletic Center in Portland. Registration is open for the Portland Sea Dogs Mother’s Day and Father’s Day 5K road races. Each race ends inside Hadlock Field, and both have an entry limit of 3,000. The entry fee is $16 before April 1 or $19 after, with a $2 discount for those who register for both races before April 1, or for families of 4 or more who register before April 1. A parent’s workshop willbe held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, at the Gold Room on Warren Avenue. The workshop, put on by PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) is part of a targeted effort to provide a positive environment for young athletes. The workshop teaches parents how to help their kids get the most out of their sports experience and how parents can help coaches and and league administrators establish and maintain a positive competitive environment. TRYOUTS MARCH 19
Tryouts for the Southern Maine Breakers travel hockey teams will be held the week of Marsh 19 at the Biddeford Ice Arena. There are teams at the Squirt, Peewee and Bantam age levels (birth years run from 1998 through 2003). A tryout fee of $40 will be charged for registrations received by March 7.
