The National Weather Service has issued a
weather
advisory for New Hampshire and Maine from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
The agency’s office in Gray is forecasting snow, possibly mixing with rain along the coast this afternoon.
Snow is expected to fall after 5 a.m, with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches along the coast and 4 to 6 inches inland.
The approaching storm is already causing accidents across Connecticut and prompting numerous school delays.
Connecticut transportation officials say a tractor-trailer accident shut down both sides of Interstate 95 in East Lyme shortly before 5:30 a.m. today. It wasn’t clear when the highway will reopen.
The snow was expected to taper off later in the morning.
