PENGUINS NOTES: Despite losing three of their last four games, the Penguins remain one of the premier teams in the AHL’s Eastern Conference. In the first three games against the Pirates, centers Brian Gibbons and Ben Street each have two goals and an assist. Defenseman Alex Grant, who has played two games against Portland, has three assists. In its last 10 games, WBS is 5-4-0-1.

PIRATES NOTES: The Pirates have lost four of their last five games, despite outshooting their opponents in three of those losses. In his last five games, right wing Patrick O’Sullivan has three goals and five assists. On Feb. 11, rookie defenseman Paul Rundblad scored two goals and had an assist during a  4-3 overtime loss to the Penguins. In its last 10 games, Portland is 3-6-1-0.
