Swift is the owner and operator of Firefly Restoration in Hope. He has been restoring antique fire engines for more than 30 years. He has completed work for the New York Fire Department, the American LaFrance Fire Museum and several individual collectors among others.
Saturday’s multi- media presentation will feature a slide presentation and a discussion about the evolution of firefighting technology.
Swift’s talk will cover the earliest examples of steampowered self-propelled fire engines through the adaptation of gasoline engines. The museum has two examples of early steam-powered pumpers on display.
