PORTLAND — The Portland School Board today will hold the first of three forums to solicit input from the community about the hiring of the next school superintendent.
The meeting dates are:
— Today at 4 p.m. in the library of Ocean Avenue Elementary School, 150 Ocean Ave.
— Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of Lyman Moore Middle School, 171 Auburn St.
— Thursday in the cafeteria of Riverton Elementary School, 1600 Forest Ave.
Each forum will last an hour and a half.
The board has hired PROACT Search, a national consulting firm, to facilitate the superintendent search. The company has been working with the board to coordinate community forums and group discussions with Portland parents, students, teachers, administrators, organizations, elected officials and other important stakeholders.
