WINDHAM – A robber wearing heavy winter clothing and brandishing a gun robbed the Evergreen Credit Union in North Windham Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Windham Officer Barry Kelly said the suspect managed to elude capture despite Windham police patrolling the North Windham area and being on scene within a few minutes of receiving the call, Kelly said.

Kelly said detectives are working with a few leads and are pursuing the suspect.

Evergreen Credit Union is located at 785 Roosevelt Trail, adjacent to Friendly’s restaurant.
