BATH — Dreamland Theater will screen “La Vie en Rose” at 7 p.m. today at the Winter Street Center, 880 Washington St.
The 2007 film, for which Marion Cotillard won an Academy Award for Best Actress, “gives an unsparing look at the life of the French singer Edith Piaf,” a Dreamland Theater release states. “From a childhood of hardship, through years of struggle, to the pinnacle of world fame, the tragedies of alcohol, heartache, and love, are powerfully brought to the screen.”
Cotillard portrays Piaf.
Short films, serials and cartoons will be shown at 6 p.m. The suggested donation is $5. Soft drinks, popcorn and candies are available at $1 each. Those who attend are invited to bring supper to eat during the film.
The entire 2011-12 Dreamland Theater schedule can be found at www.sagadahocpreservation.org and on the Dreamland Theater Facebook page.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
