BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College indoor track team is inviting elementary school students to participate in a children’s relay race on Saturday at Farley Field House.
The race will take place during a 3:45 p.m. intermission of Bowdoin’s track meet with Tufts, Springfield, RPI, Colby, and Harvard. The track meet begins at 2 p.m.
Children in grades K-6 are welcome to participate. There is no charge for entry to the field house or for running in the race. Children can attend alone or with friends. Teams will be created on the starting line just before the race. Each child runs once around the 200-meter track.
Children coming to race should wear sneakers and shorts.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
