LISBON
The Lisbon School Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Lisbon High School library to receive its first overview of the proposed 2012-13 Lisbon School Department budget.
Superintendent Richard Green said Monday that each department administrator will present the budget for his or her department to the School Committee.
Green said budget challenges for next school year include loss of state subsidy funding, the loss of $150,000 in the temporary federal jobs stimulus money the district must either find a way to put back in the budget or cut; as well as salaries and benefits costs, and changes in special education including for program support and out of district placement.
If the School Committee doesn’t complete its review of the budget today, it will meet again Wednesday, according to Green.
