NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-Jesse Todd had two goals and an assist and Ryan Flanigan had four assists to lead the Merrimack College men’s hockey team to a 6-2 win over the University of Maine at Lawler Arena on Friday.

The Warriors also got a goal and two assists from Karl Stollery and two assists from Elliott Sheen.

Maine put early pressure on Merrimack goalie Joe Cannata, who made four saves before Carter Madsen scored a 2-on-1 goal for the Warriors at 5:51. A Jordan Heywood slapshot made it 2-0 just 2:09 later.

Merrimack extended the lead in the first seven minutes of the second with a goal by Kyle Bigos and a power-play strike from Todd.

The Black Bears finally got on the board at 9:34 on a power-play goal by John Parker. Spencer Abbott cut the deficit to two at 13:30, but Todd scored his second power-play goal of the night less than two minutes later.

Maine pulled Dan Sullivan at the start of the third, replacing him with Martin Ouellette, who made nine saves on 10 shots, allowing a power-play goal to Stollery.

Brian Flynn had two assists for the Black Bears.
