TOPSHAM — The annual Elks “Hoop Shoot” free throw program, hosted by the Topsham Recreation Department and co-sponsored by the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department, was held recently at Mt. Ararat Middle School.
The Elks National Program is America’s largest non-commercial co-educational sports program. It offers children ages 8-13 an opportunity for character and skill development.
In girls ages 8-9, first place went to Alexa Eaton (12 of 25), followed by Jaden Lohr (7 of 25), while the 8-9 boys had Jacob Benoit (7 of 25) in first and Coenradt Taylor (6 of 25) in second.
In 10-11 girls, Marley Groat (12 of 25) was first and Theresa Breed (2 of 25) second, while Caleb Manuel (18 of 25) was tops for the boys and Zachary Boyle (13 of 25) second,
In 12-13 girls, Lauren Sturgess (15 of 25) was first, followed by Caitlyn Smith (10 of 25), while Caleb Cost (18 of 25) was first for the boys with Colby Bucknam (17 of 25) second.
