RAYMOND – Deputies responded to the area of the Pond Road in Raymond Thursday after an adult male, who lives and the area and was out for a walk, was beaten with a baseball bat and threatened with a handgun by two males. The attackers then took the male’s money and fled.
Though badly beaten, the victim, whom police say knew the attackers, was able to provide a description of his attackers and the vehicle they fled in before Raymond Rescue transported him to Central Maine Medical in Lewiston where he is recovering.
Detectives involved in the investigation were able to identify one of the two assailants, Andrew Easter, 31, of 13 Pond Road in Raymond. Easter was arrested without incident at the residence Friday, Dec. 8.
The investigation continues and the second male assailant is still being sought.
