Adam Gould of Portland recently graduated from the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I. and has been appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. He is a son of Terri and Gregory Gould and is a 2010 graduate of Portland High School.

Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Justin M. Stimpson, son of Rebekah and Craig Stimpson of Bowdoinham, recently graduated from the Aviation Survival Technician Class “A” course and was promoted to his current rank at Coast Guard Aviation Technical Training Center, Elizabeth City, N.C. Stimpson is a 2007 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School, Topsham, and joined the Coast Guard in March 2009.
