New digs for chiropractors

Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce staffers were on hand to celebrate the recent opening of the new Chiropractic Works location at 1 Brickyard Lane, One Bragdon Commons in York, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Chiropractic Works was founded in 1993. 

Wiscasset antiques gallery

Businessmen Tim Buczkowski and Ted Talbert have opened the Showcase Antiques Gallery at 85B Main St. in Wiscasset. The multi-dealer shop showcases the finds of New England dealers, with merchandise ranging from period antiques to nostalgic items. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with extended hours in summer. Buczkowski and Talbert also own the Bayberry House Bed and Breakfast in Boothbay Harbor, a two-time Travelers Choice Award winner for ten best inns status from a field of 20,000 United States bed and breakfast businesses. Intranet firm launched

Entrepreneurs Mark Girr and Becky McKinnell have launched iKNO Intranet, LLC, an intranet development firm intended to offer an affordable, functional and intuitive intranet platform based on a proven and proprietary internal communications system. The iKNO system is now operational, at an enterprise level, at a large community bank in Maine, and will soon go live at a healthcare services provider. The platform is also being installed as a cloud-based application for an international trade association, and is scheduled for deployment in several other industry sectors in 2011. Brunswick inn to open soon

Olympia Hotel Management, a Portland hospitality management company, announced plans to open The Inn at Brunswick Station this spring at Maine and Noble streets in downtown Brunswick. Located adjacent to the Bowdoin College campus, the new inn attempts to strike a balance between contemporary design paired with area history and classic New England dining. The inn offers 52 guest rooms and suites, a tavern and a function space with tented patio offering seating for up to 150 people for weddings and events. GotPests has expert advice

The Maine Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Council, of Augusta, has launched its new web site www.GotPests.org. The site is intended specifically for Maine homeowners and gardeners to share information from experts about pests and pest management, with an emphasis on low-risk treatment methods. The site is a collaborative effort of the Maine Board of Pesticides Control, University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service, Maine Department of Agriculture, Maine Forest Service, and Maine Integrated Pest Management Council. 

Optometrist opens office

Optometrist Ronald Cedrone, a longtime practitioner in Greater Portland, has opened an Independent optometry practice at 335 Maine Mall Road, in South Portland. New and prior patients are invited to call to make an appointment. The number is 771-7968. The practice also welcomes walk-ins. 

Therapists saddle up

Physical Therapist Tasha Marin and Occupational Therapist Tracy Payeur have joined efforts to open Abilities Therapy Center, LLC, a Buxton-based therapeutic riding center at Hearts & Horses Farm that utilizes horses to offer physical therapy, occupational therapy and hippotherapy for individuals with physical, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Fusing Korean and Mexican

Ian Farnsworth, owner of Slainte Wine Bar and Lounge of Portland, has opened the new restaurant. GOGI (Korean for meat). The eatery’s menu features a fusion of Korean barbecue and Mexican food.
