BRUNSWICK – A trucker who said he was looking at the moon ran off I-295 early today after a gust of wind hit his tractor-trailer.

Police said Fredrick Durkee of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, went off the road about 1:20 a.m. at exit 28 southbound in Brunswick. He was hauling 20,000 pounds of fish from Nova Scotia.

Both southbound lanes of the highway were closed until a tow truck pulled the tractor-trailer out of the snow alongside the road shortly before 8 a.m. Traffic was diverted off exit 28 before the truck was removed.

Police said there were no injuries and minimal damage to the truck.
