On Thursday, the University of New England’s Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center released the first three harbor seal pups of the summer season. A large crowd gathered on the beach at Granite Point in Biddeford to watch the event. One of those releasing the seals included Althea Bennett McGirr (in a red top), who is the director of customer relations at Oakhurst Dairy and a member of the multi-generational Bennett family which owns and runs the company. Oakhurst began donating dairy products for the seal pups feed earlier this year. (DINA MENDROS/Journal Tribune)
