TOPSHAM — With the deadline looming, two people have taken out nomination papers for a seat on the Board of Selectmen, Town Clerk Ruth Lyons said Tuesday. There is only one potential candidate for a seat on the School Administrative District 75 Board of Directors.

Donald Russell has returned papers to be on the ballot for the Board of Selectmen; James Morris has not. Selectman Michelle Derr is not seeking re-election.

Incumbent School Board member Dorothy Gardner has turned in papers for re-election, and so far is unopposed.

Signed nomination papers are due at Lyons’ 100 Main St. office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18. Candidates must gather at least 25 signatures, and no more than 75.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
