Officers on patrol in North Windham last weekend broke up a fight outside of a new nightclub, leading to the arrest of three people.

Just after midnight on May 9, the officers found a small group of people outside of Club 302, a bar and nightclub that opened this month in the Goodwill Plaza on Route 302, said Lt. Dave DeGruchy of the Windham Police Department.

“They came across a disturbance, and they pretty much broke it up and got everyone out of the way,” DeGruchy said.

The officers returned to the parking lot about a half hour later, right around closing time, to find another group of people hanging around, fighting and being loud, DeGruchy said.

After a skirmish with police, Amanda Perrin, 24, of Portland, was arrested for disorderly conduct, and offensive words and gestures. A friend of Perrin’s, Corey St. Pierre, 19, of Portland, then tried to stop the arrest and was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

“He kind of kicked the officer,” said DeGruchy.

A third person, Matthew Brown, 22, of Westbrook, was also arrested after it was discovered he had been drinking alcohol in violation of his bail conditions. He was charged with violating condition of release.
