In the early 1950s, the West Gray Store on Route 115 sold Calderwood’s bread, Deering Ice Cream and Italian sandwiches, among other things. It was the prototypical country corner store, just like the many others found throughout Maine. In 1962, the store was sold and became a restaurant. Down through the years, many changes have taken place and many other restaurants have located at this site. Today at the spot, DiSanto’s Restaurant serves the local diners.
