A New Gloucester man has been charged with drunk driving after he crashed his pickup truck in West Gardiner early Saturday morning.
Stephen Jeffrey Hanson, 33, was driving north on Indiana Road when he lost control of his truck, said Chief Deputy Everett Flannery of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department. The truck went onto the right shoulder and rolled onto the passenger side before falling against a tree. Hanson was wearing a seatbelt.
Hanson suffered a rib injury in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center. He has since been released. The 1993 Nissan pickup truck was totaled.
Hanson was issued a summons for operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, Flannery said.
