Where did you get that sling? How the heck does that thing work? Come to The Birth House and find out Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. for a presentation on baby carriers.

AnnMarie RianWanzeck, a certified professional midwife, will discuss the styles and trials of baby wearing. Samples of many carriers will be available for visitors to try on and take for a test carry.

RianWanzeck will have information on where to find different carriers, carrier costs, and even how to make your own. Learn how those mysterious looking carriers work and how to wear your child without hurting your back.

This free informational talk will be held at The Birth House, a freestanding birthing center at 28 S. High St., in Bridgton. The midwives will be on hand for tours of the center before the talk for those interested in seeing this new option for birthing women in southern Maine and Mt. Washington Valley in New Hampshire.
