One guest left a party in Windham last week with more than fond memories, and now finds himself in trouble with police.

Ryan Cruz, 21, of Westbrook, was charged June 21 with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer after allegedly leaving a party at 172 Roosevelt Trail with a handful of DVDs that belonged to the homeowner.

“The victim and the person arrested knew each other,” said Lt. Dave DeGruchy of the Windham Police Department. “People noticed after (Cruz) left that things were missing.”

Police were called to the address just after midnight, and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies located Cruz in Harrison a couple of hours later. The stolen items were found in his vehicle, DeGruchy said.
