Dancers turned out
On Saturday, March 8, dads, grandfathers, etc. braved the rain, cold and wind to take their special girls out to the second annual Daddy/Daughter Dance sponsored by the Gray-New Gloucester Parent-Teacher-Student Association.
The 406 people who danced the night away at the Gray-New Gloucester Middle School, were an increase from last year’s attendance of 340. Even though most people were cold, wet, and windblown when they arrived, there were lots of smiles and plenty of dancing.
Association president Josie Mann would like to thank the committee members for their help in planning this event, which entailed a two-month process.
Special recognition goes to Scott Doyle who served as the event’s disc jockey again this year. He also supplied Cat’n Eli’s sodas enjoyed by the thirsty dancers.
The association extends its appreciation to Tsukroff Photography that shot the pictures again this year. Thankfully, a friend helped out, so there were two photographers on hand.
Additionally, the association gratefully acknowledges all of the volunteers who helped make the event so special. Many people donated food, drinks, paper products and/or their time to help out at the dance. And, finally, a special thank you is extended to the men who came for making the dance so special for their girls.
