This class is designed to help people with cancer and their loved ones learn more about and better manage key money matters that may arise during or after their cancer experience.

Join a panel of experts for an informative discussion of important financial issues that include Social Security Income, Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicare, Family Medical Leave Act, COBRA, and employment rights, among others.

Panelists include: Joanne Rawlings-Sekunda of the Maine Bureau of Insurance; Robert Clark of the Social Security Administration; Meg LePage of Pierce Atwood; Anna Benoit, LCSW – MMC Inpatient Oncology Social Worker; Tom Cryan, Maine Medical Center director of patient accounts. Help Make Baskets

Operation Homefront-Maine announced that it is preparing and distributing Easter baskets to children of our military service members. The nonprofit organization needs your help and is requesting donations from the local community to make the holiday special.

“They need everything from baskets, grass, candy, stuffed animals, basket wraps, and other items to be able to put together these baskets for the children,” said Windham Councilman Donna Chapman, a chapter president. “Even if you can only donate one small item, we are very grateful. These families are stretched thin with all the sacrifices they have made and they deserve our help in return.

If you would like to donate for an Easter dinner, Operation Homefront has many convenient dropoff locations for your donation. For drop off information please call 321-1321 or visit the chapter Web site at www.operationhomefront.net/maine.

Operation Homefront helps in a wide variety of emergency situations experienced by military families, especially when the service member is deployed. Most recently, Operation Homefront-Maine assisted several military families with food assistance, rent assistance, utilities, heating oil, and disaster assistance as well as Christmas. For more information please visit w.operationhomefront.net/maine or contact Chapman at 321-1321.
