As many of you may or may not have heard, I recently presented an outline of the most comprehensive revitalization of the town’s infrastructure in Windham’s history. As part of my due diligence, I want to reach out and hear from as many of the town’s citizens as possible.

While I greatly respect and appreciate the 12 or so talking heads in town who regularly speak out about what they feel is good for the town, I want to find a way to hear from the heart and soul, if you will, of the town. Windham ought to be a town whereas your length of residency, contributed public service, income, and method of communicating have no bearing on the importance of your opinions and desires for the town.

I would like you, the citizens of Windham, to consider what economic development for the town means. I would also like to hear from you as to what you feel would be the best way(s) to gather town-wide participation about what economic development should mean and look like for our town.

I, as a citizen and town councilor, feel that further defining and developing the town’s economic future is of the utmost importance. As you know, pushing for fiscal restraint and continuous improvement of our operations has become a hallmark of mine. While these aggressive efforts need to continue, we also need to position the town to better meet the challenges of the future. I am very concerned that neighboring towns are rapidly outdistancing themselves from Windham, in terms of

infrastructure development.

My goal is to have my plan ready to present to the council within a few months. So, your timely feedback is important to insure your participation during the initial design. Of course once presented to the council, my plan will need its approval before it becomes a town supported proposal.
