Thanks for the generosity

The Windham Town Clerk’s office would like to say thank you to Allied Realty, and the generous citizens who donated money to go along with the money that the clerk’s office collected for performing marriages and Dedimus Justice Services which was used to buy presents to give to social services this Christmas.

Keeping Records

For those of you who are working on family histories, be sure to check the Web site for the Windham Historical Society for the records of friend’s vital statistics. The site also has listings of burials at the many local cemeteries and other information on old deeds and legal matters.

Busy Christmas

Josie Morrell of Gray Road, was very busy over the Christmas holiday. She went to her granddaughter’s, Michelle Farwell, Dec. 23, her daughter’s, Martha Poland of Casco, Dec. 24 and to her son’s, John Morrell, on Christmas.

Food Pantry Thank You

The food pantry’s Thanksgiving and Christmas Basket distribution was a great success. Generous donations of food and cash donations helped many enjoy holiday dinners, and the Toy Workshop was filled thruogh contributions of wonderful toys and clothing. You people made it a huge success.

The pantry also thanks those of you who opened your hearts and adopted families, providing them with food and gifts. The following is not totally inclusive but they hope will cover most contributors who made this a joyous season.

The Windham Food Pantry wishes to thank all of the following for their generosity. All local banks and businesses both large and small; area churches, fraternal and other organizations; Windham schools (primary through high school, the Real School and St. Josephs College); supermarkets (including Dave Gutter’s Meat Market); Windham Town Hall staff; Girl and Boy Scouts; and last but not least, all of the private citizens in Windham and surrounding communities who so generously contributed.

The pantry is grateful to everyone but cannot possibly list all of its contributors. Approximately 160 families received Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets and 102 families with of total of 262 children with several gifts each from its workshop.

This could not have been accomplished without the generosity from the community and the hard work of all of the volunteers. Windham Social Services Administrative Assistant Madeline R. Roberts wishes to thank everyone.
