The Windham Fire Department in the month of October had a Fire Prevention Poster Contest for Windham schoolchildren. The top three students in each grade from kindergarten through fifth-grade were awarded prizes. For kindergarten, Erin Glicos, pictured above with Windham Fire Chief Charlie Hammond, won with his drawing of a firefighter helping a child to get out of a house safely. Other first place winners included first grader Camilla Grosso, second grader Katrina Kennedy, third grader Kelly Hutchinson, fourth grader Sydney Richards and fifth grader Kyrie Austin.
