Prep Math teacher and tutor Karen Vellekamp, has recently been hired to teach SAT prep for Maine Prep, Maine’s largest business devoted solely to standardized test preparation.

Vellekamp joins seven other faculty members throughout Maine in the teaching of the Maine Prep SAT curriculum, “Ten For Ten,” which is designed to teach students strategies to use in the math, writing, and reading sections of the SAT.

Vellekamp, who received her Master of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire, will teach Maine Prep SAT prep classes at her own math tutoring center, The Knitted Brow, located at 260 Main St., Bridgton.

Before starting her own tutoring business, she taught math at Fryeburg Academy, Kents Hill School, Hesser College and the New Hampshire Technical Institute.
