A Brunswick man was found dead in a Westbrook apartment early Friday morning.
The body of Oscar Dale Moore Jr., 44, was discovered at around 3:15 a.m. Friday at 532 Main Street by the owner of the apartment, under what Westbrook Police Chief Bill Baker called, “suspicious circumstances.”
Baker said he believes the death could be tied to the local drug trade, specifically the abuse of prescription medication, including methadone.
Baker said cases involving drug abuse, especially at the expense of a human life, are not going to be “swept under the rug.” He said he believes there are instances of people feeding each other lethal doses of drugs, and those people should be held accountable for their actions.
Westbrook police will conduct an investigation and thorough analysis of this death and its possible tie to the local drug trade. Police ask anyone who was in contact with Moore within 24 hours of his death or who have knowledge regarding his death to contact the Westbrook Police Detective Division by calling 591-8117, e-mailing crimetips@westbrook.me.us or sending a text message to 650-9048.
