The end of the year is a good time to look back at the history of a town. This is Windham’s Kiwanis Band, 1939, before playing at Fenway Park. Included in this photo are Genevieve Dow, Rachel Andrews, Ken Long, Don Rogers, Clayton Nowell, Charlie Knight, Eddie Thayer, Kenneth Hawkes, Henry Heel, Carroll McDonald, Irving Shaw, Donald Shaw, Lulu Verge, Robert Webb, Warren Fernald, Earl Quint, Carol Burdge, Willis Pierce, Harry True, Clinton Graffam and many who are unidentified. When this picture was taken, most of these young people could not imagine that in a few years they would be in foreign countries, fighting a war to protect our freedom.
