Four people were transported to Maine Medical Center after a four-car accident at the intersection of East Bridge Street and Route 302 in Westbrook.

According Westbrook Police Officer Michael Brown, a minivan was broadsided by a pickup truck traveling east on Route 302 as the van was taking a left turn into a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot. The van then struck a Chevy Tahoe that was attempting to turn out of the parking lot.

After hitting the van, the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck continued over a snowbank, striking a Nissan pickup truck at the Dunkin’ Donuts drive-through window.

Three passengers from the van and one from the Silverado were taken to the hospital. Brown said he believed none of them sustained life-threatening injuries.

Robert York of Windham was ordering a coffee when his Nissan pickup truck was hit. York said the Silverado was “flying” down the road before it struck the van. He said he saw the rear passenger of the van hanging out of the back window, bleeding heavily.

Three passengers from this van were taken to the hospital after it was struck by a pickup truck on Route 302 in Westbrook. Two other cars were also involved in the accident, which occurred outside in the parking lot of a Dunkin’ Donuts at the intersection of East Bridge Street. A passenger in the pickup truck was also hospitalized. According to Westbrook Police Officer Michael Brown, none of those hospitalized sustained life-threatening injuries.
