St. Joseph’s College has recently created a Web site called “Looking at Sebago Lake: A Middle School Researcher’s Guide to Maine’s Deepest Lake.”
In addition to the lake’s geography, the site covers how to determine water quality and how interconnected food webs operate – not just in Sebago, but also for lakes in general. The easy-to-navigate site links to other relevant environmental sites in its resources section.
Professor and oceanographer Dr. Jeanne Gulnick of Peaks Island authored the site, and communications professor John Hufstader of Windham produced it. Education professor Dr. Janice Rey of Standish consulted on the project, which was funded through a grant from the Dorr Foundation.
The Web site can be accessed by visiting www.sjcme.edu/sebagostudy.
