The annual Westbrook Invitational high school wrestling meet attracted its usual share of quality teams last Saturday. Nineteen different squads scored points at the event. When all was said and done, the defending Class A state champs from Massabesic topped the field with 139 points closely followed by Sanford (122), Deering (108), Morse (105) and Bonny Eagle (97).

The Scots had three wrestlers in the championship finals with Dalton Groeger (112) and Steve Martin (160) winning their weight classes while Pat Gallant was the runner-up at 119. Bonny Eagle also had three wrestlers reach the consolation finals where Shane Nicholas (130), Matt Beckwith (145) and Joe Layte (189) all placed fourth.

Windham scored 14 points on the day with Jacob Greenwood wrestling well and earning fourth place at 215 pounds.
