Cookies and crafts will highlight the next two weeks of activities at the Naples Public Library.

First, the library will be having its annual Mini Art Sale and Cookie Walk on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Several local artists have been hard at work over the last few months creating wonderful paintings and prints for this popular library fundraiser. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase unique holiday gifts for loved ones or friends. Paintings of loons, lighthouses, sunsets and even fresh garden vegetables guarantee that you will find something to match any dacor.

After you purchasing some new art, make sure you stop by the Cookie Walk to fill a bag with your favorite holiday cookies. Local bakers have been putting in overtime this week to be sure that the table is stocked with a wide variety of home baked goodies. For a $5 donation to the library, you will be given a bag to fill with cookies of your choice. The library will also be selling copies of its popular Cookie Walk cookbook.

Local craftsman Jerry Wax will lead a Penny Rug Holiday Pin class at the library on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Penny rug is a folk art style of appliqua. Participants in the class will learn about this ages old needle craft using felted wool and simple stitch work. The fee to join the class is $5 which will cover the cost of the materials. Each person attending the class will choose from three traditional holiday pins which will be completed during the class and then taken home. Space is limited for this event so please contact the library to reserve your seat.
