This photo was taken sometime in the 1950s before North Windham became the commercial center it is today. Route 302 was still the main thoroughfare, intersected by Route 35 and Route 115. Boody’s Store is the largest structure in this view and was destroyed by fire in the 1960s. Take a good look and you’ll see just how radically this area of town has changed in the last half-century. Notice the fields on the left that are now blacktopped shopping centers. And there were many front yards along Route 302 heading north. Most of these places were residences in those days.
