Drama, Drama
• Bonny Eagle High School Drama presents the great American comedy, The Front Page, by veteran Chicago reporters Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur. The play tells the story of a group of jaded reporters for Chicago newspapers in 1928 who are determined to “get the scoop” no matter what. This biting satire tackles all aspects of Chicago’s “Roaring ’20s” society, including the news business first, politicians, incompetent police and high society. Come see the madcap escapades of Hildy Johnson and his news cronies as the exciting plot unfolds in front of your eyes. All shows will be held at the Bonny Eagle High School auditorium on Nov. 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and a special matinee show at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
• Schoolhouse Arts Center’s Half-Pint Players will present Lyrics, Limericks and Rhymes on Nov. 16 at Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake. This entertaining play, written and directed by Amanda Fickett, includes a collection of poetry and prose from some of our favorite poets brought to life by the Half-Pint Players. Some of the lines you’ll recognize include “But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep” from “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost. The eight-person cast range in age from 8 to 12 and come from three area communities. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, at Schoolhouse Arts Center. Schoolhouse is located on Route 114 just north of the intersection of Route 114 and Route 35 in Sebago Lake Village. Tickets are $3 each. Call 642-3743 for more information.
