Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Puffin Stop convenience store in Gray.
Megan Reeves, 19, and Christopher Poulack, 29, both of Windham, were arrested by a Cumberland County sheriff’s deputy at about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Shaw’s Supermarket parking lot in North Windham.
According to police, Reeves entered the Puffin Stop and handed the clerk a note stating it was a robbery and that she was armed with a gun. However, Reeves and the clerk exchanged a few words and Reeves left the store empty-handed. She was seen fleeing the scene in what the clerk described as a Volkswagen-style vehicle. The clerk and Reeves were the only two people in the store at the time of the robbery. Nobody was injured during the incident.
Reeves has been charged with Class A robbery and violation of conditions of release. She is being held without bail at Cumberland County Jail until a scheduled court appearance on Thursday.
According to police, Reeves has been involved with several crimes throughout the past few months in Maine and out of state. Most notably, she was a travelling companion of Windham native Michael Woodbury before he shot to death three men in North Conway in July. She managed to escape from Woodbury at a truck stop in Kentucky.
Poulack has been charged with Class A robbery, operating under the influence, operating after suspension, possession of a firearm by a felon and trafficking in dangerous knives. He is being held at Cumberland County Jail on $100,000 cash bail, and his arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.
